80's Australian film - Last man on Earth

    Hi,

Does anyone remember an Aussie film, made in the 80's about a man walking up and realising he is one of the last people alive (similar to Omega Man). In the end, he eventually dies and wakes up on a strange beach (I think this is supposed to be purgatory).

Its been wrecking my head for years trying to find the name of the flick.

    Any help would be appreciated.

It's from New Zealand and is called The Quiet Earth.

Very good little film from what I remember.

Yea, thats the one. It was talked about on here a number of months ago and on the back of alot of recommendations I picked up a copy. Its a very good film. Quite like Omega Man and I am legend in many ways.
