Looking for a DELL Ac adapter compatible will an Inspiron 8600. It doesn't have to be the official PA-10 adapter so long as it's compatible. Any ideas where I might get one in the Waterford area?

Dell should have them for about €50 but I'd say you'd get it on ebay a bit cheaper but make sure it's from a reputable dealer. Most universal ac adapters would work fine with an 8600.

Just bought a PA-12 off of a guy on Adverts.ie no problem. He had a PA-10 left too on Sunday. He may still have it. User name is extra-ordinary_ if that is any help. Nice guy to deal with too.

Id definitely agree with AC on the 'buy from a reputable dealer' part. There's a lot of cheap laptop PSU's on ebay that are counterfeit and/or low quality, and even potentially dangerous.
