Ready boost?

I've started using a 4gb flash drive with Ready Boost and it seems to speed things up.

I was wondering though, in what instances Ready Boost actually makes a difference.

I see in the "7 ways to spped up Vista" article above that it doesn't speed up games and that it's not really like extra RAM.

Anyone else using it, finding it a difference?

It helps if you have a low amount of RAM , say 1 or 2 gb , other than that I wouldnt say its really any benefit at all.

RAM is so cheap these days that using a USB key to boost Vista performance doesnt really make sense , better to just buy the extra ram and free up your USB key for more important stuff.

readyboost is no use for games at all, but it will help in certain applications like photoshop. But like said above, ram is so cheap at the moment, it would be more adviseable to upgrade if you only have 1/2gb
