The wife is looking for a recorder for the tele for her birthday something like sky plus is that the only option or is there another option.Im not into giving sky the extra every month. I was thinking of a DVD recorder but she doesnt want that either?

    Cheers

What do you use for your viewing pleasure at the moment? Like, NTL, Sky, just an aerial?

we have the sky basic package but i dont like there service at the moment. So if there was a console out there that could do the job of recording off the telly (hard drive?) without the hassel of disc
    cheers

Well, you could get a hard-drive recorder alright, though with Sky, or any digital TV, you'd need to watch what you're recording (unless you've the TV off, or are away).

Sky+ is very handy, and is simple to use. There is no extra monthly payment for Sky+ anymore. As long as you have any Sky subscription, you can avail of the Sky+ recording featuers. Your only outlay would be buying the box and paying for install.

the only thing gall is that i think you have to have one of the premium channels to get it free. like the sports package or the movies package. would highly recommend sky plus.if you do have one of these its only a once off payment but if you don't i think you 'll have an extra monthly charge. got it for the sake of it but now can't do without it. brilliant service.
