How much, roughly at least, is the pay for this?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 158 ✭✭HighFinance

The pay is roughly what an entry level journalist would earn in a major city in the UK/Ireland for a specialist publication.

More than 20K and less than 30K.

This looks like an excellent opportunity, I'm sure there are numerous people here it would suit. So come on, I want to read more boards members in Cardplayer.

What are prospects like in this job/industry in general after 1 or 2 years?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 158 ✭✭HighFinance

Well with this job its hard to say. In the nine months i've been in charge in Europe i've set up two additional businesses and am working flat out. There's now so much work we now need a new guy and hopefully things will continue to grow from there.

In the industry, i'd say its fair to say prospects for the right person are fantastic. Ask any of the bookies/poker rooms/media companies how much trouble they have finding good staff and you'd be surprised how many of them manage to keep it together at all.

Sigh...another question directed at me (i presume) but not PM'd.

The answer to your question is that, at the moment, it is based in a office near Pearse St. DART station.

No you don't have to be a media graduate.

Hope it's OK to bump this.

Y'know, the response to this ad has been great but please realise that writing is the mainstay of this job. Not poker.

Get that and you're much nearer getting 'it'.

Pity... I've a background in media...but am too engrossed in my new degree program to consider this.

One has to suppose that the market would be saturated once I'm in a position to avail of any such jobs...
