Hi, i'm moving to Quin next week and would like to know if the government site is reliable on the available connections there (http://mapviewer.broadband.gov.ie/ServiceByLocationSearchWF.aspx)
quinonline, bbnet, o2 and 3 should be my option, considering that i'd prefer a no cap connection which one should i go for?
BTW are you aware of the arrival of DSL there?
    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

    Hi rotronnie

As far as I know there is a local scheme in Quin that is fairly good (that is the quinonline). I would recomend that you pop in to the 'Abbey Tavern' some night for a pint and ask one of the locals. Mark behind the bar will surely know about it. I think you need to be right in the vilaage to avail of it though.

I am living near there - half way between Quin & Sixmilebridge. I have O2 broadband for the last 2 months and it is a god send. BBNet was my only other option which is far more expensive and 'fixed'. Having the mobile option suits me far better. I tested Vodafone and it was brutal in my area - so fair play to O2. I have a friend as well who lives about a mile from Quin on the SMB side and he has the Vodafone - and it is also brutal for him at hom but he uses it more in Shannon during the day which is fine for him.

O2 also have a decent transmitter near Quin (in Caherscooby) so I am sure that it will be every bit as good there as it is for me.

Hope this helps you make the decision

    Yup, try http://www.quinonline.com/
Run by one of the techs that used to work for the EIA project.
