Modelling part-time

    Hey folks,

A co-worker of mine also does some part-time modelling and makes a pretty penny from it. I forgot to ask her how to get into it (will do so next time i see her), so in the mean time might as well ask ye lot :)

Anyone ever do this? Is it difficult to get gigs? Will agencies take peeps on easy enough?

    Cheers

    Hey!

You would need to take a good quality photo of yourself (possibly a full length one too as some agencies request them) and send that in with a letter saying you're interested in modelling for them.
You could also include your stats (Height, clothes size, eye colour etc.)
Assets is one of the biggest agencies but there are others, a quick google will find them.
It's a job you can't depend on as one week you could have lots of work and then nothing for several weeks y'know?
You could be lucky though, there's no harm in putting yourself out there! :)

Be prepared to fork out a bit to get good shots done - maybe ask over on the Photography Forum for advice on that?

If you've got something going for you, physically, may as well give it a shot while you're young. Don't give up the day job though, as the income stream (if it ever materialises) will be erratic.

I had a bash off it a couple of years back but I'm still working for an Off-Licence, so you can draw your own conclusions :(

Why not join www.movieextras.ie ? I get a nice few offers from them and have recouped my joining fee many times over.

    Cheers folks!

I don't think I'm exceptionally attractive, but I aint hideous, so it's worth a shot like! :D It could be a laugh

Yeah I was also thinking of extras work rediguana..... a mate of mine got work through there and was paid a fortune for doing f-all. Pretty handy number, it seems!

    Cheers
