Radiography Jobs

    Hi all

Just have a question for any radiographers out there! I'm a final year student of diagnostic radiography in the uk. I am hoping to get a job back in Ireland when I qualify in the summer, but, from what I can gather on the internet, the hospitals are imposing recruitment bans. How bad is the situation? Are there really going to be no jobs for newly qualified radiographers this year?

Also, where are jobs advertised? I've been checking the HSE website and individual hospital websites recently but have seen no basic grad posts advertised?

The HSE needs to save huge bucks this year, so there's a jobs freeze on at the moment. The new private clinics, ie Northwood, Beacon seem to advertise for radiographers constantly, they might be worth contacting.
Another thing, will your college allow you to do placement in an Irish hospital? Even if you could do 2 weeks somewhere and let the staff get to know you, it might help you get a locum should a vacancy arise after you qualify.

That should be possible yes. Doing some placement in Ireland is a good idea. Thanks.

I'll try sending cv's to the private hospitals too.
