Hi I was just wonder has anyone been here on holidays before. I was thinking about going in late July for about 4 or 5 days. Could anyone recommend a good part of the City to stay.

Is it generally a safe place (I understand all cities have their no go areas and that if you look like a tourist doing stupid things you're generally asking for either trouble or to be robbed)

Is there any attractions besides the little Mermaid that are a must see. I should point out at this stage I suppose that I like Art Galleries and Museums so I'll research those before I go.

Oooh is Denmark using the Euro now or are they still using the krone. Language might also be a good question at this point do people generally speak English when spoken to or should I have a few danish words and sentences handy.

I think that's about it if I think of anything else I can always add it.

    Thanks for anyones help

Dernmark is still using the Krone.
They're pretty much all fluent in English in Copenhage, but it's always a good idea to learn the basics in any foreign language before you go. Yes, no, hello, thank you (no equivalient to please in Danish!) I don't speak Danish, etc.

I felt safe when I was there, it's safer than most European cities if you're reasonably careful.

I'd recommend the Bertel Thorvaldsen museum if you like neo-classical sculpture. Highlight of my time there. And of course there's also the Carlsberg brewery, hic!

There's also Helsingor (Elsinor) castle, 40 mins train ride north, as read about in Hamlet.

Weather's going to be good then, so don't rule out the parks and beaches.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Is there any good Viking Museums. I see they have a hop on hop off bus I always find them useful for finding your way around the tourist locations.

Nice parks, and good looking girls whizz by constantly on bikes. They are a handsome race.

That was about it. A forgettable place really. Nothing to do/see. Dull, germanic feel to it. There is a some sort of buzz on the main shopping street alright.

Beware of Tivoli. It is a rip-off and if you must see it, get fed outside first.

All in all, not the greatest city break you will ever do.

The National Museum has some terrific Viking exhibits - but I believe the best Viking Museum is in Roskilde.

Do a boat tour of the city - they go from Nyhavn and it's a good way to get your bearings. Take the train to Sweden - it only takes 40 minutes.

Copenhagen is a gorgeous city - but it's quite expensive. Bring plenty of cash.
