I've uploaded some of my pictures from the Vancouver Stargate convention

They're of the cabaret featuring Alexis Cruz and the stunt show featuring Jason Momoa and James "Bam Bam" Bamford.

Non disclosure for pictures taken on the set tours, since the above weren't taken on the set tours...

BTW, set tours included a photo in front of the SG1 gate with Gary Jones and Dan Shea in costume complete with Dan Shea holding the famous wrench

20 people at the convention had bought tickets in an eBay auction for "Hollywood Insider" lunch with Michael Shanks and Lexa Doig. It turned out to be an exclusive viewing of Continuum and, no, I wasn't one of the 20.

They all had to sign non-disclosure agreements, but they were all saying it was much much better than Ark of Truth (like that would be hard)

Out of curiosity was there a chance to give your opinion on 'Ark of Truth' to any of TPTB at the convention? Or was it mostly one-way communication?
Good to hear that 'Continuum' is meant to be decent!

Yes, there was, I can't recall what people said tho.

But, at a fan-organised dinner at Fuel, one of Joe Mallozzi's favourite restaurants I told him I thought that I preferred some of Atlantis S4 episodes, Be All My Sins Remembered, etc, were better than Ark of Truth

Must have been cool to see Jason up that close... I fear I would drool on him if I had the same chance... haha.

During the stunt show Jason and Bam Bam were demonstrating with a stunt man how they worked out the fight sequences. They showed them in slow, half-speed and full speed, the fight in question was the one Ronon had with "Chief Satedan Wraith Worshippper" in Reunion.

Then two guys started heckling them from the audience and yelling "booooo, call that fighting?" Jason yelled back "speak for yourself Bilbo!" (he was shorter than Jason and Bam Bam).
The two guys came up on stage, Jason disappeared off stage but came back quickly with a bad version of Ronon's wig, stuck it on Bam Bam's head and both he and Bam Bam started laying into the guys (I knew it was defo part of the stunt show then, I suspected it was an act when the two guys started heckling them from the audience).
The two guys turned out to be two of the stunt actors Bam Bam employs for Atlantis, the larger guy was Jason's stunt double.

Jason cut off his dreds between the end of shooting season four and beginning of shooting season five, on condition that MGM got to buy them. Before they started shooting season five Jason had to have them reattached to his hair and he described as like being tattooed for four days.

Bam Bam said he was the first person Rachel told about her pregnancy, they were shooting Missing at the time and that day she was supposed to be filming a fight against three guys and then five guys.

(Reunion was filmed after Missing even though it was broadcast before Missing, people who were paying attention during Reunion noticed that Rachel was visibly pregnant.)

Bam Bam said he accidentally hit Rachel in the face during filming an episode in season one, she ended up with facial bruising, Bam Bam's girlfriend was her make-up artist and she was annoying with him "I'm going to have to cover that up now"

Someone asked Kavan Smith if SG could crossover with any other sci-fi series or movie, like for example Star Trek or Star Wars, which would he go for?

Kavan replied: "What like having Chewbacca on the show?"
Audience member: "Chewbacca's already on the show!"

The Chucknician from Stargate Atlantis had a talk and during it he did an impression of Jack Nicholson pulling over Joe Flanigan after Joe ran a stoplight. He mussed up his hair and when he was saying Jack's lines he put on a pair of sunglasses and did the voice:

Jack: "Hey sport, are you aware that you're supposed to stop at a stoplight?"
Joe: "Ehhhhh, stop, slow down, what's the difference?"
Jack: (mimes hitting over head) "I'm hitting you over the head with a baseball bat, do you want me to slow down or do you want me to stop?"

Chuck also compared himself to the Dramatic Hamster (which is actually a prairie dog, you know those little guys who you see in wildlife films, popping their heads out of holes and dodging eagle attacks):

Jason Momoa is either short-sighted or long-sighted, he can't see things that are far away, he says that's why Ronon always squinting in the show. He also had a hernia operation recently, he got the hernia from lifting a guy on the show

We got one extra guest talk than was scheduled. Alexis Cruz had trouble with his passport so was late arriving, Dan Shea came out to fill his spot (so we had two guest talks with Dan, yeah Dan!), Alexis gave his guest talk the next day.

The two best talks were Dan Shea and Lexa Doig.

The NORCO facility (where sets are built and props and costumes are stored) gets broken into 3-4 times per year. I saw a bit of graffiti on a pillar inside one of the buildings which simply said "Stargate Sucks" (original, huh?)

In the costume facility I saw costumes belonging to Lord Yu, Michael's hybrids, Cronus, Sheppard and that whiny female doctor from Atlantis, oh and a furling costume.

The winner of the costume contest was an Ori Prior, second was a furling on vacation in Hawaii and third was Geeky Carter

She looks like a Nox in that picture!

And being sexy has nothing to do with Keller being an interesting character, she's a total bore IMO. And she's not a patch on Grace Park or Summer Glau
