Theres so many different models of the Nvidia 8800, its hard to tell which is which.

I ahve a 8400gs 256mb at the moment, but want to upgrade. I only use Flight Simulator 9, but I use lots of payware scenry and aircraft and I only get 15fps max with same.

    Any recommendations?

    Depends on your budget

    9600gt is great value

But you could get a new 8800gts 512mb or a 9800gtx for around 250 euro

    MSI NX8800GT Zilent
    or
    Elitegroup N8800GT

Unless you want a jet engine in your case i'd get either one of them.:D

Do because the normal fans are crap they make a load of noise.
Also they have the ati 3870 for 133 with a dual slot cooler .

    The 8800gts 512mb / 9800gtx coolers are very quiet
