Messed up betting slip

I backed Snowy Morning E/W on the National but I put down Snowy King by mistake. Will the bookies pay out?

My experience is that if you have some other indication that was the race you wanted to back (e.g. you had grand national on the slip, time of race, took a price) then most bookies are reasonable, particularly if it is a small bet. They know that plenty of non-racing people bet on the national and expect some mistakes but you need to prove it was an innocent mistake.

I second what Cantoris said. I don't think there was anything with the name King in the race or any other names with Snowy so as long as you indicated what race you were betting on it should be obvious what your intentions were.

I once got paid out on a winner where I forgot to put the name on. All I had was 2.05 @ Newmarket (ot whatever) and €30 @ 9/4 written on the docket. Luckily the guy at the pay-out counter saw that there were no other horses in or around that price (there was an evens fav and the rest of the fiels were 5/1 plus) so paid out after a little discussion with the shop I had placed the bet in. Never even noticed until he pointed out to me. Fair play to him anyway, he could have easily just given me my stake back and told me to f*ck off.

King John's Caslte might cause a problem but I know one girl who backed "Snowy Mountain" (she was thinking of Australia) and got paid so shouldn't be a prob if the other indicators are there.

How did I forget him. Might not be too big a problem seeing as he was a better price and also placed :)

That won't be a problem at all. As far as I know the machine registers the correct price. Otherwise somebody could do the opposite ie mark 16/1 for a 16/5 shot. PP have screens that show all the prices that a horse has been at and time of odds change. Cashier won't think twice about paying this out.

If you put down the wrong price, the price is readjusted to the correct one, whether its to your advantage or not. The terminal software spots this immediatly.
    So you'll be sound.
