6-3 to Sarries at halftime, O's having a bit of a mare. Can Sarries do us (Munster) a favour and remove the O's, who I believe are far more of a danger to us than Sarries.

O's getting murdered in the Scrums and most of the rucks, and dishing up alot of turnover ball.

Handy away trip to Vicarage Road if Saracens win this.

Really not surprised, the much overhyped, chronically over-rated Opsreys always struggle against a big, aggressive committed pack, which is why I reckon Munster will beat them if they go through....

justice done there after the pressure before the break :D

Aye, bit of a fluke tho. O's are awful, knock ons galore. They look dangerous though.....if they could just catch the ball.

Does anyone know where the semi final will be on? London Irish are playing theirs in Twickenham so I'm sure Saracens/Ospreys vs Munster will not be at Vicarage Road.

It will be at the Rioch Arena in Coventry if Sarries win

12 to go still 16-3, not looking good for the O's, everything they do turns to ****.

The incredible statistic of Home teams winning QF's to continue???
Munster are the exception rather than the rule.

Make that when Sarries win. The overatted Ospreys have been dire today.

Aye 9 away wins and Munster had 3 of them....should have been 4 but for that brutal touch decision.

Tight finish now. Easy conversion coming and another try required.

Thats how you beat the Ospreys and Wales....Gaffney's Saracens will be tough test for Munster

Does this result help Munsters chances to reach the Final?

In my opinion no...remember who coaches the Saracens, and also Saracens pack are a much tougher prospect than The Ospreys....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,763 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

Yes O's are a far more capable side than Sarries when they play well.

yea, ospreys were second favourites, munster were third coming into this weekend.

Would think so, mind you if we were playing the Ospreys team that showed up today then maybe not. I would consider Glouchester to be a better team than Saracens.

No. Both teams are virtually the same and it will be a very very close contest Munster would have been happier if Ospreys had of one as it would have been a simpler task.

Credit to Scarries the tackles they made were awe inspiring really putting their bodys on their line and once Vyvyan and Chesney are on fire its going to be a bruising day if your on the receiving end of their tackles and charges

Never realistic, all on the back of 6N hype..play some nice rugby in the backline but their pack are mediocre, particularly front row...Munster would have had them going backwards all day

Im not sure myself, most were touting O's as strong favourites for this. Havent seen enough of Sarries myself to make the call. Will def be watching the Glos V Sarries game that Sky are showing next weekend for an insight.

O's at Cardiff or Sarries at the Ricoh, you'd be mad to think this hasn't done Mu nster a big favour. Also the bookies think the same. Yes the Kidney / Gaffney thing makes it interesting but the O's were a large portion of the Welsh Grandslam side and on the big Millenium Stadium pitch would be a much tougher proposition than Sarries.

on paper ospreys are a far superior team. they didn't show up today. munster have no reason to be fearful so long as they perform, from 1-15 they have better players.

But didnt Ospreys think that today and look what happened to them?

..a team which was never really tested and didn't play a decent, settled side in what was the worst 6N contest in many a year. Wales will be destroyed in SA over the summer...

Id be inclined to agree. If Ospreys were at home today, they might well have won handsomely. The trip to the Millenium would undoubtedly be the more daunting of the two.

It is a danger alright, but to be fair I can't imagine any Munster team being as arrogant as the O's were today. They looked like the expected an easy ride today once they went 0-3 up

the ospreys have a better team, they didn't show up. if munster show up and perform to their potential they will win.

sorry, where is your confusion with my post?

Well i thought i saw a team in Ospreys jerseys on the field my eyes must have been misleading. Look simple as Ospreys were bullied out of it Scarries targeted their keys players and tackled them time and time again have a look at the stats Scarries at the end of the match are around 120 + to 80. They beat them at scrum time and at the breakdown the only thing Ospreys had was a decent line out. Ospreys showed up but they were beaten by the better team simple as.

Munster are going to have to work hard to win they its not as easy as showing up and leaving with the final tickets bought.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,727 ✭✭✭✭Sherifu

I thought Ospreys would win it tbh. Looked impressive recently. That said I hadn't seen Saracens in a while.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 125 ✭✭Stick_man

This was the Ospreys big chance to break through this year and thay blew it, They read too much into the EDF semi, I suspected Saracens wouldnt want to show their hand in that game and it proved to be the case, It wil be dificult for Munster but after yesterday the fear no-one.
