Graphics Card Question

I was wondering is it possible to change the graphics card in my MacBook?

I really want to play Fable but it doesn't support GMA cards. Is there a way to upgrade it to an ATI or Nvidia card?

    Thanks.

afaik it's impossible to upgrade the graphics card on any laptop as its soldered onto the motherboard

Maybe it is the Mac that needs to be changed.

Macbooks have an Intel integrated graphics chip, the GMA950.

I suggest you read the specs correctly next time.

(oh, and you'd need a Macbook Pro, iMac or Mac Pro to get a discrete graphics accelerator in a Mac).

I think it's pretty obvious from the OP's post that he knew the specs of the MacBook, he was asking could the card be upgraded.

Anyway, unfortunately not OP. Most Mac users who are gamers either use the more powerful machines K.O.Kiki mentioned (and usually running Windows on Boot Camp, since not all that many native Mac titles exist) or keep a dedicated Windows box for this purpose.

One thing Macs are hopeless at is games, and I don't think even the most die hard Mac fanatic pretends otherwise.

Yes I did knew the specs when I bought it!

I hadn't really been intending to use it for gaming at all but when I saw that Fable was coming out for Mac I thought I would get it (only game I ever really enjoyed on my ex's XBox), but as it's only compatible with a Avi or Nvidia graphics card that has put an end to that idea.

I was just checking to make sure that was no way to upgrade it, I was fairly sure there wasn't.
