besides adverts.ie and dell outlet are there other places where you can buy second hand laptops.

has anyone on here bought from Dell outlet. ive just been on and seen they have some low prices on the inspiron 6400. is it a good laptop. what is the quality like on these machines?

i remember they were popular a couple of years ago but they are probably very dated now.

King Nothing recommended a dell inspiron to me and i think ill go with that but i just want to see what second hand options are available

I am using a 6400 and it is great for my requirements (e.g. mail, internet, etc). I have media centre on it (vista) and have no problems at all. If I was a gamer though Im not sure if it would have the performance required but I guess thats always a challenge with laptops.

DELL outlet does not sell second hand to my knowledge. They sell stock with cosmetic damage or returns. I know this laptop and some others I have purchased for friends/family were orders that did not go out as the spec was incorrect, i.e. effectively a new laptop.

Sometimes the deals on the main DELL site are actually better than the outlet site. The folks over in Bargain Alerts have a good thread on this if its a DELL you are after.

    Good luck

    it depends on the spec
some of the early 6400s had good graphics cards like the x1400/1300, the later ones had onboards graphics
the processor where also a bit better in some being core duos instead of dual pentiums

ebay is good for laptops if your looking for something specific, but probably a bit more risk depending what type of seller your buying from
