I'm looking for a very light laptop as light as possible but I'd also like a fair bit of a power.

Besides a mac air what are my best options?

XPS M1330 is one to consider. More powerful than the air which has fairly weak specs imo.

Ditto. You can spec the m1330 quite high (the graphics are stick at 8400) and it's still pretty light.

Are you looking for a specific screen size? Or is it simply a case of the smaller, the better?

Would also recommend the XPS m1330, got one a couple weeks ago (2.5ghz, 4GB RAM) and very impressed with it (they're using the newer intel chips in it as well now).

The weight is my main issue but I don't _need_ any particular size screen, pretty flexible there.

Depends on the battery. 2.1 kilos or over for bigger batteries.
