I was loking in spectra at one of these cases today and it looks really good. A hard shell for a macbook seems better than a cushioned sleeve.

Has anyone ever used one before?

Never had one but they get very bad reviews on the online apple store

I used have one for my MacBook, it was prone to scratching (understandable, it's just plastic) and dirt used gather in the crevices etc. In the end I just got sick of it and couldn't be bothered putting it on. The cheaper knock offs might be worth a look on eBay.

    visiting the site in ff3...

"it seems your browser is out of date..."

 just because you's have done a check to see if i'm running ff2.0 or ie7 doesn't say my browser is out of date if i'm using either of them :p

it also hides the apple logo and makes your macbook look like one of them dell coloured laptops.

I have one of the cheap eBay ones and I have to say that it has far exceeded my expectations. I thought I too would get sick of it but it has kept my Mac clean and scratch free which can only be a good thing.

don't get one. everyone i know that bought one literally took it off after a couple of weeks. One friend that bought one said it actually scratched his macbook.

how could something that is meant to protect your laptop actually scratch it

I can understand it scratching your laptop if you keep removing it and putting it back on, but if you keep it on if sure it would prevent scratching ?

Dirt depositing and then grating against the surface I'd imagine, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility anyway.

    cool thanks for the replies.

I'll steer clear of that case anyway.

I was seriously about to buy one and didn't think for a moment it could scratch my macbook. I'm so pleased I didn't buy one. :)
