Ok, first of mods. Im not asking medical advice or anything in this thread. I just wanna see have any other users experienced it etc.

So I woke up this morning and noticed a little bump at the edge of my bottom eye lid, and my mate told me it was a sty. I looked it up and and it looks like it can get pretty painful.
I went to the chemist and got some cream for it and put it on. But what Im asking is since I got the treatment for it straight away will it get worse before it gets better? i.e Swelling and redness etc.?

Do any of you know from experience?

Shouldn't develop much more of you are applying the cream as directed.

I used to get them, for me they were never more than a minor irritation.

As always. If in doubt ask a doc.

I got one and was recommended to keep washing it with warm water and johnson baby shampoo. It was gone shortly. - Annoying thing it is - but I think its a sign of being 'run down' so get some vitamen tablets if you are working hard these days.

When I worked for Microsoft I got them all the time. So did a lot of people who worked there. Apparently certain environmental factors can cause them.

Basically they're spots on your eye lids.

You've nothing to be worried about, assuming it goes away within a week or so. If it stays any longer, go to the Doctor. I know of one guy who had one for a few months and then had to get a bit of surgery to drain it.

That happened to me, but actually it was a cyst and not a sty. Actually I have the same problem again at the moment but the meds seem to be clearing it up. :)

Put a wet warm/hot (not hot enough to burn you ;) ) clean face cloth on it for a few minutes at a time. It'll be gone pretty quickly. :)

Definitely keep going with the cream/ ointment you got, but there is an old cure which has worked for me loads. Just get a cup of strong tea (no milk) let cool and soak some cotton wool in it and let the cotton wool sit on your closed eye for a minute or so, it somehow works great

If it's hurting, it's fairly easy to scrape it off with your nail.
