Compaq Presario v6000

Maybe someone can help...
The other day I was using my laptop, Compaq Presario v6000, it's 1year and 3 months old. I got up to answer the door and when I came back the screen was black with white lines shooting across it. I turned it off by pressing the power button and tried to turn it back on again, although I could hear the fans whirring the screen was not coming on.

So I left it to cool down and tried it again, but no joy!

I've tried connecting it to a PC monitor but the screen is not working.

It's had no knocks and no liquids have been near the laptop.

Anyone have any idea what it could be??

It could be a problem with the graphics card. If it is then it will be quite a costly repair.

This particular Laptop is know to over heat. You need a USB full length Under Fan If it does comes on again. Take out the battery and try with Power cord only. Press ESC just after you turn it on to see if it will going into the bios screen if it does do a Complete HDD check if that fails sell it for parts or use as a trade in Sorry for you. If you do buy another laptop keep a usb Fan under it all the time.
