    Heya

Myself and girlfriend both in late 20s want 2 weeks in the sun where we can sit on a beach/by the pool but also go out to nice restuarants, do watersports (jet skiiing etc), do some scuba diving and other activities.....

Any suggestions? Was thinking portugal or egypt but not sure on either? Any specific recommendations? Egypt too hot in August?

We want gauranteed sun as last year we went to italy in june and it rained the whole time! Was also thimnking maybe south of france or Florida?

Our total budget is about €2k each - don't want to go to greece, italy or canary islands....

Any help would be greatly appreciated so i know where to start the research at least

If you love watersports then I would say somewhere like Jordan, it will be really roasting in August though so if you don't like intense heat then you may not enjoy it.

    Alternatively try Thailand.

Hi - I'm not sure I'd choose Florida if you plan to visit your destination in August. I've been in Orlando in August in the past & would never go again at that time of year. The heat & humidity I could live with (but the humidity was tough to try get use to some days), however I was sorely disappointed by the amount of times it rained over a 3 week period. I was uneducated about the region at the time but now realise we'd visited during their so called 'hurricane season' - typically June to end of Octber'ish. It doesn't mean you'll get hurricanes every year from June to October but it will more than likely be quite wet for portions of days - it can start & stop quickly though & doesn't necessarily rain all day. Since my original trip I've visited again but at the end of Oct & Start of November & on those occassions only had rain once in a 3 week period! Nov is my favourite time to visit Orlando. Maybe other parts of Florida are ok in August but I don't know that for a fact & would be wary of going to that region in August if as you say you want 'guaranteed' sunshine etc.. Hope this helps.

We (couple in 20's) were in Egypt last month. It would be far too hot in Irish summer time. It was hot enough in March! If you can put off going til October or so you'll have much nicer weather. I'd definitely recommend it for a couples holiday.

Jordan has hardly any coastline so I'm suprised that's mentioned. I was there but not for long so I don't know too well.

We are going to the Algarve this summer, it's a lovely place to go. We're only paying e850 each for 2 weeks to go to a really nice hotel in Lagos at the end of August called the 'Marina Club'.

Falcon holidays do some nice 'Premier Choice' hotels in the Algarve, check them out since you have a big budget.

We are going with Sunworld but went with Falcon to Egypt.
