Hi All - I am thinking about completing a PADI Open Water course. I am based in Co Kildare so any of the Dublin based clubs would be easily accessible for me. The prices on their web sites seem to range from €550 on dublinbaydiving.com to €650 on oceandivers.ie. I am not sure if they include the necessary equipment or if that is extra.

Does anyone have any recommendation's as to which i should go for and approx how much it should cost?

The only diving experience i have is two 10 meter dives in egypt while on holiday last November.

    Thanks
    F

I think i'm going to go for the course offered by www.discoverscuba.com for €600. If anyone has any thoughts on them please PM me :)

    Thanks

It's been many's a year since I did my Open Water, and that was with Oceantec who are no longer about. A lot of the Oceantec guys are in Ocean Divers but I have no experiance with them in the new setup.

Flagship Scuba are another outfit offering courses - I have done my last few specialties there.

If you can spare a Saturday, take a drive to each of them and have a chat - go with the guys who give you the best offer and put you at ease most. If you are confident and comfortable with them your will enjoy it more.

The OW and AOW are great quals to get under your belt, you can go practically anywhere with them

    Flagship don't run courses anymore.
I know a few of the guys in Discover Scuba and would highly recommend them.

Interesting... It has been a while since I did a course I guess!

OP - you might let me know who you go for in case I want to go do some more!
