Eyebrows waxing/plucking help needed!?

    Never ever had my eyebrows waxed plucked or anything as im a whimp when it comes to pain :rolleyes: However want to get them looking nice at least tyded up a bit. there not really bad but havent a clue what to do where is best to go? Im thinking of just getting them waxed will it be painful? Totally petrafied of even going to salon that they will be like state of me!!

    please help!! :confused:

    doesnt hurt really. No worse than taking a plaster off only takes few mins! Only thing is dont get them done too close to a night out or anything some people get a slight redness/rash only lasts the day tho!

    go for the waxing it only hurts for a min and it gives a better look compred to plucking which takes longer

    Is it possible to having plucking only done in a salon?

    I'm the same as the OP. Though so many ppl telling me not to wax as it grows back in clumps and makes the eyebrows sag?
    Is this true?

    You can have them waxed or plucked or both. I think plucking may be an idea if it is your first time (sounds rude!) as you will be able to get some shape into them and from thereonin they can be waxed. Please go to a salon though, not something to try on your own if you have not done it before. As someone else pointed out, if getting them done for an occasion have them done a couple of days beforehand. If getting them waxed, a reputable salon will want to do a patch test 24-hours prior to doing them for you.

    Tbh it's really not that sore at all, I get my lashes tinted as well and I find that more painful! Make sure to leave it a day or two before the wedding as they tell you not to put makeup on the skin for a good few hours afterwards, if you did you'd end up with spots.

    There are special eyebrow plucking and shaping kits you can buy in placves like Boots, Superdrug, and even some supermarkets. They come with what basically looks like an eyebrow stencil- there are approximately three different shapes in the packet and you use them as a guide to plucking a good shape. The best time to pluck eyebrows is after a bath or shower, when your pores are at the most open and the hairs will slide out more easily. You're best off doing them at night as well, in case they become slightly red (don't worry, your brow bones will not look like tomatoes). Rub a little bit of aloe vera gel on afterwards to soothe the skin.

    Another method to consider is threading. What is done here is a specialised therapist uses threads to quickly and virtually painlessly pull the hairs out. It's an incredibly fast process and the result lasts as long as a wax. A lot of beauty salons are doing this now. It orignated in Asia, as far as I know. Give your local salon a ring and ask them if they do it. Pricing wouldn't be much dearer than a wax.
