Darn, in college, cant see the pics!

Re the bolt removal: Is it not like the real steel whereby you open the bolt fully and then there is a 'bolt release' lever on the rear, left hand side of the reciever that you pull out a little to release the bolt?

Those dents look pretty severe, looks more like someone took a few shots at it. The finish on the wood looks wrong, id try sanding it down and give it a few coats of decent varnish.

They add a bit of character, war scars :p

Not sure what type of wood it is by the pics, probably one of those unknown Asian 'hardwoods', but yeah, the finish doesnt look right, obviously stained or something. Dont know what the original finish for a Kar98 would have been, but I imagine a few coats of boiled linseed oil would give it an autentic look...and feel :pac:

sand the varnish off, leave some wet newspaper and wet towel down on the affeted areas and leave for 30 mins, then get an iron and damp but not soaked towell and rn it over the dents, the water has soaked into the wood and the heat expands it, or should do if done right.
from the sounds of it the wood is too soft anyways, bit of a stinger after that much money spent. you could look into gettin a RS one of ebay, more than likely be able to dremmel-fit it.

what sort of power is she puttin out?

Chronoed at 320 before she was shipped.

I dont mind the dents. Ideally I would like a more aged
    rough battlescared look to it.
I may at some stage sand and re-colour the wood though.
or seek out a different stock.

Some amount of whack out of a single BB when firing it. Serious fun.

Whats the bolt action like on it, does it give any trouble?

None so far. The Bolt is nice and strong. Its takes a fair bit of pressure to
close it. It wobbles when open and sometimes catches on something the odd time when
    trying to close.

The marushin one even seemed to catch occasionally when i saw it so im assuming thats normal, i think i'd prefer a bolt that puts up resistance as opposed to one that moves like its covered in oil and a 2 year old could use:)

well i think it looks uber (appropriate word) cool. i will get one eventually. you can get the cartridge stripper clips (if memory servers me right that is what they are called or perhaps that came from a cheap night club somewhere..who knows :D ). that will allow you to load a little faster.

Aye, stripper clips, or charger clips. I assume there is a charger guide in the reciever? Can anyone confirm...Bullets? LIGHTNING?

I never checked! I still have a charger clip from when I fired the real steel so that should
work if I can find it at home.

EDIT: Yep there is a charger guide but the charger clip I have wont fit it.
The Charger clip I have is the correct width ok but its got some protrusions on
it that prevents it from loading into it.

    Here's a pic.
The stripper clip has bumps on it that are two wide for the
    guide on the KAR98.

Ah Kar98 makes me all Fuzzy thinking of the days playing Day of Defeat...

Brilliant looking Rifle and would be a nice addition to any collection.

I have a thing for wood finish and/or actual wood :D

Hmm, just thinking out loud :pac: but, whats the chances of getting a proper scope mount and scope for this gun? The rear sight has a connection area for a sight mount, right? But would it be strong enough to hold one?

Cool, sounds good! Cant imagine picking up an orignal mount and scope though :pac: you'd buy a whole armoury of airsoft guns for the same price :p I have a bayonet for the Kar98 thats just waiting for a rifle to be stuck on! :D

Also, another question :p the barrell is two piece I heard?! Is that two short lenghts used to make one barrell (as seen in cheap €20 springers?!) if this is the case, whats the accuracy like and would it be even worth getting a scope for and using as an effective sniping gun, and not just having the scope for aesthetics.

Sorry 'bout all the questions :D. But just wondering if the bolt can be removed using the lever on the left, rear of the reciever?

And does the gun itself strip down as per the real steel??

The Bolt can be removed via a lever on the left hand side.
I have not stripped it so dont know if it strips down same as real steel.

    Another question, sorry guys! :pac:

Re: the 'two piece' inner barrell, dont quite know what this is, but I believe it affects the accuracy of this gun, so, d'ya think it would be possible to just buy another inner barrell, say one for a VSR10 or such and pop it into the k98 to improve the accuracy and range? Even if there was a little bit of work required in doing so.
