    Hi,

Looking for a bit of advise, on the best way to run a satellite cable from sky box in Sitting room downstairs to bedroom upstairs so i can connect Sat cable into TVLinks to use sky upstairs.

How would you wire it up,i have a aerial point beside tv upstairs & downstairs, could i use this in someway to get the satellite wire from downstairs to sky box in front room?

Not sure if i have explained myself, basically trying to find the best way to get satellite cable from upstairs to downstairs, wire is black so the Miss's won't let me run it up the outside of the wall, is there a handy way of running it inside the walls, the walls beside the 2 tv's are plasterboards so there is a gap between them. trying to get the TVLinks connected to the TV in Bedroom so thats why i want to run satellite cable up there. I take it is not possible to use the aerial wire to connect tvlinks up. FR tv point is on opposite wall from television, is that connected to the one in the room i wonder?

I have a wireless router in the house that i use for laptop, is there any other way of sending the signal wireless seen as that i can't use the Video Sender with WIFI, Why can't i use it with WIFI?!

If you have any ideas that would be great, or if you know anyone that could advise me.

    Thanks Rob

Possible that both TV points run via cable up into your loft, so that'd be a place to start looking. You could patch the two cables together, this will mean the two points are wired together.

If you're just planning on taking the RF feed from the back of your Sky box and piping it upstairs, then that should work.

You won't be able to run a second Sky box upstairs like this though. You'll need an independent feed from the dish into your bedroom for that.

If you don't have wifi in the house, a 'video sender' would do the same job without all the fussing with the wires.

    Cheers coffee

Yeah might have a look up in the attic later, all i am doing is running a cable from RF2 to TVLinks so that i can control and watch Sky upstairs with the understanding that, what i am watching upstairs they will have to watch it downstairs. so no need for other sky box.

As far the Aerial cable in bedroom, i am nearly certain that it is running down towards the floor. could it turn up again and got back up to the Attic? What you reckon?

    Thanks for the reply

Any other ideas lads and Lasses

[The] wire is black so the [Mrs] won't let me run it up the outside of the wall

Can you buy paint in Ireland? Alternatively, why not use WF100 which is available in 6 colours?

Your house isn't a dormer type house by any chance? Usually, cables go down in dormers, and along under floor to the crawl space on either side of the house.

Of course, it could just go down then up, though rare if it's a proper 2-storey.

No its a proper 2 story house, yeah it might go back up to the attic.
Gonna check this out during the week.

    Thanks for the help
