Does anyone think the afternoon slot on Newstalk with Sean Moncrief is getting a little tired?
The constant repetition of subjects, e.g kids talk

And does anyone agree with me that the presenter who assists him with what's on the television that night has the most irritating laugh ever heard on radio? Moncrief seems to encourage it and she willfully responds. I fail to remember her name, she's from Mayo.

First of all I have to say I am a fan of the Mon Creif show, however lately I have found him to be getting a little smug and full of himself. He always had PC leanings but now they are getting beyond a joke. He always has to have the last word and will sometimes construct silly arguments in order to allow this to happen. He used to let people have their own opinions and agree to disagree, whereas now, he gives a smart assed put down knowing the recipient has no right of reply.

I think the format, while unchanged for quite some time, is fine. It could do with a bit of a shake up but nothing too drastic.

And yes, that girl from Mayo has the most annoying laugh on radio today.

Have not heard the programme for a while, but like its like so many shows. It finds a formula, gets comfortable within it and then is reluctant to make changes as it might annoy listeners or the host or the guests (its tricky to ditch regulars after a certain period they probably feel like part of the show).

I used to listen in a lot, but I agree, it's gone a bit stale. I don't listen in regularly these days, maybe once a fortnight? I prefer Rick O'Shea on 2FM, he has similiar topics and pretty interesting debates/listener's texts to read out.

I used to really enjoy the Hibernian English chats on Mondays but things like "gossip with the ladies" on Thursdays are just painful to listen to. Does Henry still do vox pops at the start of the show? They can be enjoyable, if a little (!) on the long-winded side. For a while it was a bit like, "lets go interview chavs so we can laugh at them", though, wasn't it?

True but fun, Henrys finest 3 mins.

The show is best when doing quirky stories or having interesting debates and some random funny/interesting texts. I switch off when the parenting slot, gossip with women, soaps etc come on. The moral philosophy slot can be good and the vox pops are usually entertaining. Moncrieff just seems like he is going through the motions with the show and seems more interested in doing his writting an voice overs for loads of tv and radio adverts.
