Im in college at the moment and decided to work until the end of july before going interrailing. Started looking for a fulltime job for the summer as i want to get start saving but nothing has came up as of yet. Something for good experience aswell as good relatively good money. Experience with working with Pc's for 5 years. Any ideas or tips from anyone who has been in the same boat previous summers and got lucky??

Honestly I think you will find it difficult. Where I work we take on a good few summer students but wouldn't consider anyone that was only willing to work until the end of July.

8 weeks working time is too short when you consider that you need to be trained in a bit and besides the point of taking on summer students is that we have some level of cover for the whole summer

You could just do the standard summer job (retail/hotel etc.). I would be inclined to gloss over how early you're going to leave - most students can hang on til late September so you don't want to disadvantage yourself!

    Ooops!! End of August:)

Seeing as you are going to be available until the end of August, then I would start applying to hotels, pubs, local authorities, semi state bodies. Anywhere really. Do it as soon as possible most places will be starting to recruit for summer work around now.

Also you could try some of the temping agencies. You wouldn't have the security of having a guaranteed job until the end of August but you will prob be on a decent hourly rate and have the flexibility to head off travelling whenever you want.
