    Not sure you'll be allowed used jstor unless you are connected to a uni, but it might be worth checking out anyways.

    Op, if its not for academic purposes perhaps you could try " Dummies guide to Irish history" or something similar. My sister bought it for background info on a project she was doing and found it very helpful. Don't let the name put you off!
