Mouse & keyboard on PS3

Hi everyone

This should be a simple question if there happens to be someone out there who has already tried it - would you be able to use a mouse and keyboard to play an FPS on the PS3? I know you can connect a standard USB mouse and keyboard to the PS3 and type stuff in a web browser and all, so i presume that would work in a PS3 game like Call of Duty 4 for controls?

Just wanted to be sure before i buy COD4 for a mate who has just got a PS3

only if the game supports it, afaik you can use keyboard and mouse for the browser.

allowing keyboard and mouse would give anyone who uses one a huge advantage.

Hmm, i see your point. I am sure you can use keyboard and mouse for browser cos i spoke to someone today who says he did it before, but i know my mate would mainly want to play games.

Would it be written on the back of the box of whatever game whether it supports keyboard and mouse does anyone know?

UT3 is the only game so far that supports it. It is OK, a little sluggish but that is just Epics implementation.

I can't understand why FPSs like COD4 and RS:V have not released updates to support it. It can't be that hard!
