    Hi guys,

Can anyone give any recommendations on places to see in Northern India please? We are going in May for 2 weeks.

We are flying in and out of Delhi. We intend of going to see the Taj Mahal first and then travelling around the Northern part of the country (prob getting an internal flight up there).

Some friends of ours recommended Darjeeling and Sikkim. Apart from that we are currently going through the Lonely Planet and reading about places.

I just thought it would be a good idea to get other people's own opinions on places to see.

    Thanks.

    Tommy

Darjeeling is too far from Delhi, May is too hot from weather in Northern india.
Anyway, good place to visit in northern India are:-
Haridwar 250km: dont miss evening worship on the ganges, 100s of people with candle, cool

Masoori-further 100km from Haridwar in same direction: a place established by british empire as to chill out, a common tourist place and honemoon paradise

Shima 350km: a great place on hill, ancent british capital for himachal pradesh

Kullu/Manali/Rohtangpass 500km, take flight: a heaven for outsiders, rohtang pass is amazing.

you could also go Jaipur(pink city) 250km: most yanks goes to pink city as its different culture and great place, its a d day trip.

Just an advice, dont entertain unkown people in late night, only use people you know, use the sense also, if there is a doubt on anything, dont do it, buy from shop only, dont buy from walking hawkers or water bottle boys,
enjoy your trip (God it will be very hot but enjoyable)
and last but not the least visit Irish pub::-
The Dublin -The Irish pub at Maurya (5 star hotel), New Delhi
List of good night clubs (within the premises of 5 star hotels, )
