Probably will be as well, although I really don't like the 4% or whatever that is deducted from the prizepool. I'd much rather an extra fiver or so on reg instead.

I dont believe 4% is deducted from this particular tournament. I read it somewhere, i could stand corrected.

It was last month. As I shared it I was particularly aware of this.

What's it for? Is it in lieu of the dealer's tip?

    Taken for the tournament league.

To be fair, I did tell everyone before the tournament started that they`d be playing for 2nd...:D

That you did, plus you gave me plenty of advance notice of your ability to hit two outers when the chips were down, or rather in :D

Seriously though, well done, you dominated the tournament from early on to the finish.

Very enjoyable tournament, and particularly fun final table. Great structure, best I've played since Drogheda, which allowed me to stick rigidly to my favoured ubernit game, despite arriving at the final table with less than average stack and looking down at nothing better than 84o for the first 2 and a half hours or so.

That tournament league tax is annoying though, since effectively it's an added hidden reg, and something which would actively discourage me from playing the SE more often. Once you add it and the dealers' tip in the event of cashing, you're knocking on the door of 20% effective reg. Even an ego as big as mine struggles with the idea that I've a 20%+ edge in a tournament like that. Fitz is much better on that front, where it tends to be under 10%.

smack talk=banter. It was a very good natured and fun final table. I thought Oz did very well to repeatedly come back from short stacks and set backs to finish well up, and Dara seemed to be hit with an endless stream of bad cards I doubt he played a hand a 600-1200 or 800-1600!
I was very lucky with 3 left, where I spiked a set against Phil Baker (westlife), where I re-raised with 77 preflop 3-handed the flop came T64, I shoved and called with KT, turn was a 7. I spiked a 5 as well against Dara when he shoved pre flop heads up, I called with 55, although Im most likely racing, your TT were well ahead.
I had KK twice in a row followed by QQ heads up and Dara folded pre flop everytime, must have a soul read!
I was fairly fortunate to have had over double average chips from about an hour into the tournament and never dwindled below that.

I echo Dara`s sentiments about the structure it was excellent, and also re: the effective double reg with the tournament league for the EOM games, but I`ve no doubt John and Alex will look into it as it would be a real pity for the tournament to suffer as a result. I did over hear a few players saying that they would be unlikley to travel up for the games in future over the head of it.
Anyway not to sour a what was a super tournament and thanks for the nice remarks.

One other last point, I thought the payour structure was excellent, and allowed for plenty of play without forcing players into inevitable deals. A deal was suggested 3 handed but with so much play still left and the reasonable shallow payout jumps, it meant it could be continued, which I know is rare enough these days. WP for the balance in it.

LOL, that reminds me, when Joe left me yesterday at the Regency he offered me 10%, and I said 'yes of course, but I'll give you the 20 quid during the week'. Yay, forgot about that, how much do you owe me Joe, minus the 20 of course.

to quote you " no I`m ok, ill leave you to it, money is a bit tight this week as I`m busto after putting my Dad into the student champs". This after me telling you I was going to win it. Idiot.

By the way it would have been €28 actually, I sell these at a premium FFS! lol

Yeah, that was really good. Also took the sting out of losing the headsup: it's always more gutting when the winner walks off with double or more what you got.

I think it was 51 runners if I remember correctly.

Standard seemed very high to me. So high at the first table I was at that I was starting to seriously wonder if I was the value.

I managed to wither down to about half my starting stack early on due to card death until I got lucky with a big blind special chasing a flush draw that never came but backdooring a straight runner runner when my opponent was slowplaying top set. Given that the flush didn't arrive, the poor girl had to think she was betting the nuts when instead she was doubling me up on the river (though as a sign of just how strong the table was, the guy sitting across from me not in the hand knew the exact cards, 7h6h, before I turned them over).

Didn't really get going until Adam The Champ Fallon doubled me up on the second last table with A8s against my AK, and then later got lucky to win a race with 10's against AQ when my opponent hit his Q on the flop but I rivered a gutshot straight.

Was so card dead at the final table at the start I was down to 7 BB until I got a card rush that brought me from shortie with 5 left to headsup. Shame the headsup didn't last longer as I think it would have been fun but I was outchipped about 4 to 1, figured you for a lower pair than my 10's but would call thinking you were racing if I pushed all in preflop so was a good spot for a much needed double up.

But hey, great result for a young lad like yourself just up from the country and as you pointed out, you needed the money more.

To be honest, I would have been happy enough not to win it like that, I was really enjoying the game, and the amount of play left.

Yes, I was really happy with my first night up in the big smoke!

Well played Joe and Dara. I have to say that that was easily one of the toughest FTs I've played in Ireland. I felt like I had to earn every chip; no one was giving away anything. The banter was great too, mostly due to Joe and his "chirping chips". :)

What was the full rersult of this, does anyone know?

How come AntesUp seem to have stopped putting up monthly tournament results?

    Congrat Joe, nice win....

    I was first out..... sigh...
Main damage was done when I called a raise to 300 by "Full tilt Eric" in MP... I was in the BB with JdJh..
flop comes down 10 J Q Rainbow, I check he bets out 600..... I Called and bet out 1K on a brick on the Turn.. he raises to 3K...

Definite alarm bells there but I didn't listen and called.. King on the River and he went all in.... I folded showing my set and he showed AK.

I didn't think he would bet out on the flop with the stone cold nuts.... WP Sir...

I eventually re-raised my remaining 2,200 on a board of 3d 4c 9c with me holding 5c 6c... and got called by the Bookie guy (Older guy with grey hair).... and missed my 15 outs twice.. He had Ac 9h...
