Moog guitar?

In what was initially interpreted to be an April Fool's joke, Moog yesterday put a teaser trailer of what is thought to be the first Moog Guitar on their webpage moogmusic.com. There is also a Flickr photoset of screenshots here.

Not much substance in this I know, but what would people think of a guitar made by Moog, whose creator was largely responsible for putting synthesisers in the hands of thousands of bands and musicians for the first time in the 70s? These guys really know their analogue electronics, on Matrixsynth there is speculation that it will feature a polyphonic sustainer (which sounds pretty awesome judging by the video clip). Is something like this, from a brand like Moog, likely to be an awesome, innovative new product, or an overpriced boutique POS for posers? Discuss!

It will be interesting to see what comes of it, more than likely a brilliant oddity and very little more though I would think.

It might well be real? The guitar kinda reminds me of those Brian Moore iGuitar's.

Moog aren't strangers to guitar electronics. The old Gibson RD from the late 70's early 80's had active electronics by Bob himself but it wasn;t a very popular guitar. I'd kill for one along with a Les Paul Recording....

The RD they released last year was such a con becayse it was passive with normal pichups..
