    Barton Fink.

Noticed there was a bit of support for it in the FoTW so I'm sure we can get a bit of discussion going.

Personally, I thought it was a fantastic movie. I loved the theme, I loved the acting, I loved the directing and the last scene is probably my favourite last scene to date.

Really enjoyed John Goodman (as usual) and Turturro together too - the "Because you don't listen!" scene blew me away. Was just a brilliant film in all.

    What do y'all think?

When I watched it I declared it my favourite Coen Brothers film. A dark, intelligent and hypnotically filmed piece of work. However, a rewatch is at this point very overdue. I shall get there eventually, eventually being the key word here.

I like it. The peeling wallpaper, the heat, the box. John Goodman. I remember the Coens being asked what was the symbolism of the hat in Millers Crossing. Someone then asked what was in the box in Barton Fink.

    "The hat!", they said :)

The only Coen's film that I have never seen. I bought the DVD when it was first relelased and have never gotten around to watching it, yet I've seen Fargo three times in the past year. Really must sit down and watch it one of the nights.

If Darko hasn't seen it I won't go into too much detail BUT I think John Goodman does a good 'evil person'. He was vicious in 'oh brother, where art thou?' Jack Nicholson IMHO is only really good when he's nasty or evil but J G can be soft hearted OR nasty

Is there a reference to Nazism in Fargo?

He's great in The Big Lebowski too (Love the gun scene especially)
... for the sake of mentioning another Coens film :pac:
