My phone doesn't have SMS setup on it. I'd like to use Fring. Any options to download without going via the SMS link and registering a phone number like the website (www.fring.com) suggests?

    Thanks

Use your phone's internet browser and go to www.fring.com . That will give you the option to download straight to your mobile with the sms thing.

I am fascinated to know how any modern phone, capable of using fring and data, can be incapable of receiving SMS, but, that being as it may, you can download the .sis file from fring.com to your computer and then bluetooth it to your handset.

I have SMS blocked on the phone as I only use it for data and don't want any possibility of SMS charges.

Thanks to the person who suggested goto www.fring.com on my phone .. you've made a complete arse of me with such a simple solution, but at least it's all working now :D

    Cheers lads.

How do you download .sis file from their website? Cant see any option other than sending a sms for the download link.

I think maybe you have to go through the motion of getting it via SMS, IIRC. Then you claim it failed and are at that point invited to download to your comp.
