Does anyone know of any worthwhile places that take old computers.
both are dell machines ,one with windows 98 and the other with XP.

I'm worried a little about the whole DELL Asset tag thing though .

They have a min. spec and you have to pay them 20e but at least it goes to a good cause!

Thanks for that ,I presume if they erase any info ,they must install an OS themselves.

Is it possible to get dell ,to erase any info of the asset tags from their systems?

They wipe them clean and install Linux as I recall from a radio piece about them.

What are your concerns re the Dell Asset Tag?
I presume they're out of warranty at this stage.

If you need it, this utility from Dell can change or delete the Asset Tag in NVRAM
