When your from outside the parish like myself Luso, you need to make contacts. Try the local clay club and make yourself known. Keep your eye out on a Saturday or Sunday morning for guys out training their dogs in the fields. Or if you have no luck to begin with, then when the season starts in Autumn keep your ears and eyes open for guys out shooting and ask politely if they now how to get on the waiting list of the club. Club grounds usually will have signs up saying something like 'Whatever game club shooting only'. Ask at the local gundealer if he knows any clubs locally that would like a new member, then leave a contact number. All shooters have to stock up on cartridges some time and they will be in the shop so might get lucky!

    Good Luck!

If all of the above fails, head out with your gun across the fields where the gun club have signs up. They won't be long contacting you!:)

Get to know a few farmers, always helps. Found that there aren't too many around who'd refuse you permission once they get to know you a bit.
