Is there a market for second hand HE Equipment? I'm going to upgrade the 32" CR JVC Home Cinema System with a 42" LG LCD.

Thing is; I don't want to throw out the JVC as there's nothing wrong with it. Should I stick it on adverts.ie or somewhere else or am I wasting my time? Has anyone any experience selling there old kit? How sould you value it?

    Thanks

adverts is an OK site to sell on. Most of my trades there went fine, but when trying to flog off a couple of sound systems recently, was let down by four different buyers on four different occassions.

You'll get something for your TV, not much, given the popularity of LCD and Plasma. 32" CRT's probably valued at between €130-€200, depending on model, features and condition.

Adverts should work, I think if you are selling a TV and home cinema set-up together you will get more interest rather than selling separately.

In terms of price it really depends on how old, what your offering, and to an extent how much you want/are willing settle for as johnnyflav said.

I've sold some stuff recently on adverts for the first time, and was surprised by the interest.

Agreed alot of people will be dissapointed with what they get for 2nd hand CRT's. I bought my sony 32" Trinitron Crt in 2001 for 1870 irish pounds (2375 euro) and on adverts the most I would get is around 150 euro -Ouch!! So do as I plan on doing use it in a second room. Don't forget that old CRT widescreen still shows analogue tv much better than any Plasma or LCD.

That's actually been worrying me a little. Will I notice much of a reduction? I must find out what Sky+ HD is a month, last time I looked it wasn't worth it.

Dont get me wrong feed a new Plasma/LCD a proper regular Sky feed via scart and it will look as good. Also of Course that Plasma/LCD is going to shine with SKY HD, B-Ray,etc. However if your signal is of a poor Quality like a dodgy Ariel or Bad say NTL signal like my uncles and it will look terrible. He bought a Samsung 37" LCD and its a fab TV-Fed with XBox ,DVD etc and it looks great but when I switch to analogue Arial or NTL(not getting at NTL BTW just bad in that area) it looks absolutly terrible. maybe the fact as some people say here, the fact that its full hd dont help.

In regards to the SKY HD been worth it I asked the same Question on here recently..

    Have a look

Cheers for that. I've had a read and I may just upgrade now. I think I'll stick the system on adverts tonight. I'll have a Sky+ Box for sale now too by the sound of it. I'll have to research the BlueRay further now too.
