Just got out chorus MMDS and went FTA , Our old RTE ariel isnt the best and I was wondering if the aerial left behind by chorus could pick up the 4 home channels if it was connected directly to the TV . Living in Limerick city by the way and dont really want to go up on the roof

Ok thanks Gadgie , just have to get out the ladder so , where could I get a decent aerial for the home channels , what should I look for ?

Correct me of I'm wrong but i don't think the analogue channels on Chorus MMDS are encrypted so the MMDS aerial (with appropriate down converter and power supply) will still pick up the analogue channels even if the subscription is not being paid.
Isn't this why chorus come and collect the equipment in most cases?
That said, TV3 is the only one of the terrestrial channels on analogue MMDS, but there are a good few English channels on there too.

You'd still need one of those old Jerrold boxes to receive analogue MMDS. And yes you will only get TV3 out of the Irish channels.
