I've been thinking of buying a 37" too. I looked at the prices on komplett and thought they were good however when you add the €120 for delivery it looked pretty pricey.

I am in a major quandry about this at the moment as there would appear to be a large number of 2008 ranges about to be introduced. Buy now and get a 2007 model or wait 6 weeks and get either 2007 model at a discount or a better spec 2008 version for the same price.

With the strength of the Euro against Sterling I was also thinking of driving up north and picking one up in the bricks and mortar shops there.

For what its worth I have been looking at 1920 x 1080 TV's and they seem to be coming down to reasonable levels.

Best of luck with your search

Have a look at misco.co.uk I got a good price on a tv from them and delivery was on £18 and came in 3 days.http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=1382

I too have been looking at 37" tv's and was considering the Samsung model you are looking at.

However, I am now leaning more towards the 37" R8 Samsung. Basically because (based on some research) there is very little difference in picture quality between 1080p and 780p on lcd screens of that size. Full HD doesn't really come into its own until far larger sized screens.

Allegedly, standard defintion channels (ntl digital, sky etc) don't look all that great on a 1080p set. These sets are geared towards Sky HD, Blu Ray movies etc.

I am basically looking for a set for my bedroom purely for the odd bit of tv watching, the odd movie and a spot of PS3'ing.

Having said all that, I have been observing the Samsung F86 40" (1080p) model which has an astonishingly good picture on Blu Ray. Which, incidently, should come down in price shortly as it is to be replaced shortly with a new model.

I was reluctant to buy from an English site because I believe they have different models/versions of the sets over there? that have a different tuner that doesn't work over here? Or am I wrong?

Don't think it really matters anymore. My new tv has the same tuner an irish model would have. Its worth a look with the euro being so strong against the pound.

I think this will be the one that I go for I am a bit tiight for space so I need to go for the most compact tv available. This Toshiba seems to fit the bill. There is a sharp one also that is very slim although it seems to be harder to get over this side of the channel.
I think Argos have a great selection to view via their co.uk side I found it helpful to get me going on my search.

Best of luck post when you have made a decision I will keep an eye on this thread and hopefully we all get what we want (not just what we need)
