Terrible band. The singer's voice gives me a headache :(.

Agree with creature. Pure shit. Their daddies must own phantom too because they never shutup about them despite their obvious shitness.

Not to everyones taste but then again that's why it's alternative. :) Can't argue with Phantom. Main stream bores me.

so far they've released 2 EPs, no album yet. you should be able to get them in Tower or Road

1st EP 'How am i supposed to kill you if you have all the guns?' was released April last year, and followed up in October with another 4 song EP, titled 'David Carradine is a Bounty Hunter Whose Robotic Arm Hates Your Crotch'

Think of them what you may but as this thread shows they tend to invoke a strong reaction from people.
In itself thats something of a victory for the band dontcha think?

they are good, but there are better bands out there doing similar things.

one of the worst, most irritating bands i've ever heard.

they are one of the worst bands i've heard in a long time and that takes some effort with the sheer amount of useless sh!te out there.....

    FLA???
I can't understand why every female fronted Irish band of the last few years thinks no-one will notice how blatanly they are ripping of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,079 ✭✭✭Denalihighway

I think the FLA / YYYs comparison is way to simplistic - you'll have to elaborate a bit there!
For one thing, from what I've listened to from both bands, tha fact that YYYs have a guitarist (and a quite sublime one in guitarist Nick Zinner IMO) means they're fundamentally sonically different. If yer talking about the dramatic, erratic female vocals and stage antics etc...well, there's a lot of bands with that too!! Weak argument unless you can back it up.

I quite like FLA cuz they're lively and dont take themselves seriously, (which is a good remedy for the shocking amount of bland indie guitar rock bands out there at the mo) sometimes they go a bit near 'novelty' for me personally though, but they sucked me in at a killer set at Castlepalooza last year I admit.

Hooray for Humans sound decent enough but their sound is far more sparse then FLA and as for SEBP... put the songs side-by-side, whereas FLA is a hookfest, SEBP wouldn't know a hook if it came up and bit them in the ass (though I'm only basing that on their singles)

I quite like FLA and after seeing a few headline sets recently I've realised there's more to them then radio hits. Definitly a band that have the proven ability to improve, which is quite essential really in this biz.

I love them, saw them in UCD last night, thought they were fantastic, although the sound wasn't great unfortunately. Still, they were quite amazing
