    Hi everyone,

I'm a new Boards user, so not too sure where to place this but I am doing a small documentary on the slow dance and the campaign to bring it back. Anyone know of anyone that has some info on this or has had something to do with it? It would be a great help!

    Thanks!:o

yeah i'm mayor of the slow dance:rolleyes:

Ok, your obviously over 25yr and really, who's going to listen to you regarding 'bring back the slow dance'. From what i've seen in discos now, they dont need a slow dance to 'hook up' with someone, they're doing fine on their own. Maybe the ulgy ones might need it, but they rest....... did you every watch rabbits??

Slow dance is cool, especially if you are in grand company.

    Hey Funkz

Its more like a nostalgic doc - where did it go to, and why in recent years have people been trying to bring it back - is it because we're getting more and more distant with members of the opp sex - like nowadays its all about internet chattin, speed dating etc. It was pretty much tradition back in the day in Ireland. Remember when u really fancied someone and d slo dance was such an escuse to get ur mits on them! Anyway Im just looking for anyone who knows anyone who was campaigning, or places who have reintroduced it etc.

And d doc has already been approved - so yes it must be interesting to some. It's only short anyway.

I'm not an oul one, just a bit of a softie ;)

Aww i loved the slow dance, it was a guaranteed way of hooking up with someone, once you said yes to a slow dance it meant you were giving permission to the guy to lean over for that very important kiss :D

think the niteclubs are trying to bring it back because they reckon it will chill people out before they leave the nightclub and they wont be so wound up, therefore there won't be as many wild nutters outside fighting on the streets etc .. and not everyoen will leave at once!

    So its all good ...

Yeah thats one of the angles I was gonna take too. The whole idea of using it to mellow people out is real interesting - were we all mellow before with it? I think that wed be on a high over whatever embarassing/nice/ or maybe terrible that happened just before (i.e who u chose or chose u on the floor) and u were concentrating on that and not wanting to make a further fool of urself, rather than who just drunkenly shoved u in the back or whatever stupid stuff ppl get into drunken brawls about now!:pac:

    Hi hackandproud,
There is a slow set at Club Nassau on Saturday night and in Tamango on Tuesday night.
You should ask the club managers why they don't allow slow set elsewhere.
