Just a thought but since the PS3 is region free (for games...) like the DS do the shops here also accept US games for trade in? Everywhere accepts the DS so I imagine it must be the same.

If you use the search function, I', nearly sure others have said they won't take US import games, or they won't give you much for them, I can't remember which. Definitely a problem AFAIR.

    gamestop wont take them

i put it down to the miniscule chance that someone whos tv doesnt support ntsc buys it and comes back complaining that its in black and white and all fuzzy

    xtravision will take them however

ahh that ntsc excuse is a load of bollocks tbh.

all tv's made in the last 10 years are ntsc, and it's not exactly like you buy a ps3 to play on a little 14" tv now is it?

how do they know if it's an american game? is there something on the box to tell them?

So the solution is to obtain the cover/box of the EU PS3 game instore and replace it hehe (Leaving the US one in its place of Course)

Isn't that a tad dishonest, plus what if the staff caught ye. Isn't it technically fraud?

XtraVision take em - no problem.

Most shops won't take them because they legally can't sell them as they're not rated by a European body.

Well everywhere I've tried will take DS games and you can say the same thing about the ratings.

Guess I'll just call around and see when I want to trade.

wouldn't be surprised to see them taking all region games because i walked into xtra vision and managed to see a pal and ntsc pre played assassins creed on 360...so now someone will probably buy the ntsc assassins creed and it wont work on their 360..

Actually I think Assassins Creed is one of the region free Xbox 360 games so there won't be a problem :)
