Septic Tank sign off & Service agreement

i have installed the septic tank and all pipes to / from it and checked that all is working correctly. We did this work ourselves.. so when i read on the Planning Approval ( don't take it out that often) i noticed a point referring to the Septic tank being installed and tested. with another point referring to the Servicing of the tank - this i know is to arrange a contract with a company to check/empty the tank.

So my question is do i need a professional group to test and certify that the tank has been installed and is working correctly?
anyone any experience of doing the work themselves and then getting sign off after?

you should have looked for a 5 year warantee from the crowd who sold you the sceptic tank,
after its installed you can get whoever done your perculation test for you to come out and sign off on the tank,
that is what im being advised to do in my case anyway.

Just wondering, have you moved in yet and have the CC followed up on the condition. I'm in a similar position on an extension job and looks like I've a can of worms opened with the original tank needing upgrading (although working perfectly).
Discuss fully with whoever is signing off for you the costs etc of their cert. My engineer is looking for 1.2K for the certificate, that's before I change to his recommended pure-flow system.

hope to move in next weekend.
Engineer called today said supplier of tank can sign off guarantee/test of tank.
then any local tank emptier can do up agreement.

Not heard of council checking up on people but better to be safe than sorry.
Thanks for advise on costs to get these conditions met for C.C.
