Clean Hard Drive

    I'm selling my PC and would like some advise on wiping my hard drive so that no personal information on me is available on the PC. Does anyone have some advise on how to do this as I've never tried this before. Thanks.

    CCleaner if you want to leave windows on it. Otherwise DBAN.

    Definitely, but if you choose to leave Windows on it and use CCleaner, make sure and up it's secure deletion option. Standard is 1 pass. 3 passes will be fine but 7 passes is even better. It goes as far as 35 passes (Gutmann) but unless you've been selling government secrets you should be ok with 3 passes. BTW, the more passes used, the longer it will take to delete.

    if you still have the origianal cd to reload windows, that will do the trick!
