Resident Evil 5 or Final Fantasy XIII...

So... I have a bet (€20) going with a friend of mine. I reckon Resident Evil 5 will see light of day first, he thinks Final Fantasy XIII. Rule is the winner is the person who's game gets released first anywhere, doesn't have to be Europe (which would have put my friend at a disadvantage).

So, even though it's wild speculation at this early stage, I was hoping for boardsie's feedback... Vote away, giving a reason would be a nice bonus

Depends where we're talking about. Resident Evil 5 will probably get a worldwide release, at the same time late this year or early next. FFXIII probably won't get here until 2010.

Resi 5, simply because it is less likely to have development problems along the lines of "we're trying to build a whole WORLD".

Mind you, Resi 4 went through 4+ rewrites, so who knows...

It'll be FFXIII, you'll all see! It's just a hunch of mine, considering Square Enix seeming to have adopted a "Bring out a new FF title every two months" policy...

And I'm thinking back to previous RE games. RE2 was originally meant to come out in early '97, but was delayed until '98. The original version of RE4 was started in the late '90s, then became Devil May Cry! We eventually got RE4 in 2005. We won't be seeing RE5 for a while, methinks...

it is obvious dude,we've got more news/screen shots from RE5.you friend can change his bet to which version do RE5/FF comes out first?x360 or ps3,that would be intersting.microsoft/sony will try to release big titles like them asap,who wins?releasing them earlier few days/weeks will have huge impact on sales i guess

I'm pretty sure RE5 is being released simultaneously on both consoles. RE5 will be first, it's unlikely that Square Enix are gonna suddenly go "Surprise, we're releasing it tomorrow!" any time soon...

ha they cant even make sure the game release globally at the same time,i highly doubt that

and the surprise from Square last time made me now have a weak heart to believe what they annouce anytime

Well Resi 5 has a solid release date (only just copped that it's Friday the 13th), all FF has is a vague "2009" date.

There is no god if FF comes out first.
