Need advice on 400D for Dad

    My dad wants to get back into photography and the 400D on Komplett looks like good value, Is the included 18-55mm lens versatile enough for general purpose photography? Family / Scenery / Weddings etc?

    Perfect camera for those purposes. The lens is fine for general purpose photography and good for starting back into photography.

    I have the 400D and that lens and I find it ok... as I have progressed, I am looking now to buy more expensive lenses to get some better results etc.

    You can't go wrong with the camera... very good camera for starting off...

    Got one myself a few weeks ago, it's very easy to get to grips with and has a lot of potential. I've seen some lethal photos taken with a 400d.

    Another positive for the 400d, great camera for getting back into photography, i've got the 350d and my bro has the 400d they're brilliant!

    Yes I would go for the deal, cos you need a spare battery and a 4 gig card gives you space for lots of photos. Good luck with the camera for your Dad, he will love it.
