Nah, I blame Norwich Airport... Flybe are adhering to the letter of the contract, ridiculous situation that could have been easily avoided IMHO.

Agree that the news debate was pathetic.

how can you blame the airport, bad practice by the airline to hire passengers, they had a deal they didn't make it they loose money.

Old thread I know but I searched for it specifically having been told about the story in Norwich and I was curious as to what was said here about it.

The airport were due to fine Flybe a very large sum of money by missing out on passenger numbers by two flights. The airline has since dropped the service and I am told that Norwich airports management are not doing what is good for the airport in general. I believe Flybe had admitted they missed out on numbers but the number was so small that it could just have been a case of not enough people wanting or needing to go to the city.

Essentially Norwich airport forced the closure of a route over two planes worth of people.

The RTE report reads very against the airline on this.

I have flown Flybe to Norwich from Dublin many times when it was going and I fly regularly now from Belfast to Manchester and they have been a consistently good airline. Leg room is fantastic for me (6 foot 3) and the only problem I had was when one of their Dash 8s broke down.

The thing is, Norwich shot itself in the foot with the £10 passenger fee. An airport can only get away with that stunt if there are no other airports within a hundred miles.
