    hey lads im looking for a new laptop....i have about 1100 to get a half decent one..im lookin at a dell xps but was thinkin of getting one shipped from the states :? here is the irish price and the price in the states

    for the lazy ppl its the same system on both sites ones €1350 and ones $1575(€1000)...hummm... iv a friend in the states where i kud send it and get him to ship it to me!!

    edit..just noticed ehrn u click em the prices mite be differnt but if u put the two system's parts the same the prices will be as said...

    Please read the charter, especially the bit that says "How to ask for help".

    If we don't know what you will be using it for, we can't give a relevant recommendation.

    Also, in my opinion, you are stone wall mad buying from the US and having it shipped here. There is a very high probability will get get caught at customs where they will add not only VAT, but import duty too, which will actually make it more expensive than if you purchased it here. :)

    Ah yes, the old "present" trick. I am sure customs have never seen that before. :rolleyes:

    Edit: Oh, and yes, that machine will do the job for what you want.

    My soon to be new vostro laptop as mentioned in my sig cost just over 1000. Dell are taking their time about building and delivering though. Maybe its just my excitement getting the best of me.
