    Check revenue.ie
Find and complete a P50 form and state that you leaving Ireland to live abroad and
will not be returning or working in Ireland for the remainder of the
    current tax year.

    Hi,

i went travelling and was owed tax from 2006 when id only worked half the year. When i got back home last year, I went down to the local tax office, explained id only worked half the year and then left to go traveling. The lady took my pps number and said theyd let me know if i was entitled to tax back or not....about a week later i got a cheque in the post with my tax. Didnt have to fill out forms or anything.
Only wish i could get my tax back from the foreign country i travelled to as easy:rolleyes:
