Bit of a shock to be this early into the season.

Hardly surprising given the home record last season and the fans calling for his head after the game on Saturday.

Who to take over? Sean Connor is the first to mind. People will mention Dolan, but I cannot see him walk away form a nice handy Setanta job. Rico would be the other one, but again can't see him taking it as he has either just moved back to Dublin or is about to.

From talking to a few United fans here, Cousins is based in Dublin and commuted down here twice a week.

    That's true. Rogers commutes too.

FFS, unless a manager is based in the city/town/general area of the club, he shouldn't be employed. Thought Galway would have been a bit more professional than that.

Speaking as a Sligo Rovers fan , I hope Sean Connor should get the job.

Was sure this was gonna be an Alan Matthews thread. Bit of a surprise that its Cousins who's gone 1st. Thought he fared pretty well last season. They had a poor home record but were a very hard team to beat on the road.

Ah no. Actually, I don't really care, although if he does get the job we might have to pay him less money, or something. And he wouldn't be on MNS taking sneaky little jabs at us.

Jeff Kenna is poised to take this job? Odd choice given their precarious position, an given that Sean Connor wants it.

I know Cork City were looking at him to replace Rico but it never materialised. Probably still a better choice than Alan Mathews though.
