going to go back to mce 2005 when i get a chance this week

vista keeps messing up series recording, it just stops after a few weeks

sometimes it classes an epsiode as a repeat and refuses to tape it, even though i set it to tape first run and re-runs for every series

when you press the power button it used to go into s3, or it would go into sleep mode if you were taping something, but that only worked for a few weeks, now the recording will fail due to power failure

Get a copy of Vista SP1 is you can. I had the power failure problem months back and installed a pre-release of SP1. Fixed everything and have no problems since. Goes to sleep after recording to S3 and wakes up to record. And remote wakes it up too.

As for the recordings failure. I get recordings saying they are repeats too when they are not but I find that this is a guide error. I had the same problem with 2005 too.

i used mce 2005 for 2 years and it never gave these recording problems, and i will be able to take 51mb of ram out of the pc and sell it

Actually a month after I installed SP1, this issue came back once. I fixed it by redo-ing the setup for TV and Guide.

One other option is to take a backup of your recordings.xml and delete the original. Stop the ehrcvr service first too. Then restart after deleting. This clears all history of recordings but it may work. I've heard of a dodgy recordings.xml can cause weird behaviour for recordings.
